light flows in through cracked blinds
the room fills with a soft white glow
two bodies lay in the room, motionless
one on the couch, one on the floor
neither moves very much, only the slow up and down
of their chests give the signs of life
gentle snores are the only things that crack the silence
a hand rises to stifle a yawn
a paw covers weary eyes from the glow through the uncovered window
the two friends sleep peacefully as the afternoon grows.
